The Fresno/Central Valley area is one of four regions in the United States where StoryCorps anchored One Small Step in 2022. One Small Step records, shares, and preserves conversations, demonstrating how Californians can listen to each other despite differing opinions. In this One Small Step conversation, partners Adriana Sanchez and Cesar Lucio find the similarities and differences in their immigration stories to the United States from Mexico, having immigrated at different ages and in different decades. They also reflect on the discrimination each of them experienced from Americans of different backgrounds, including other Mexican Americans.
